Happy Thanksgiving week! As you probably know — and many of you are probably dreading — BLACK FRIDAY is the day after Thanksgiving, November 23, 2007. Black Friday is one of the busiest shopping days of the year in the United States. Thousands of people will drive to their desired shopping venues at ridiculous hours of the morning to find the best sales of the holiday season.

There are many shopping spots around The Townes that will have jaw-dropping sales this weekend, so be sure to check them out! Target, The Valley Mall, Kohls, Old Navy, Pier 1 Imports, and Harrisonburg Crossing, to name a few national chains, will be having super sales. If you’d like to stick with local flair, shop at Country Treasures (across the street from Martin’s) or pick up a gift certificate for that special someone at Tangle’s Day Spa.

Don’t be intimidated by the crowds! Relax, enjoy shopping, delight in the sales, and at the end of the day, rest in the fact that you have probably finished much of your holiday shopping!

Just around the corner from The Townes @ Bluestone lies the newest grocery store in Harrisonburg — Martin’s! This grocery store is like no other within a 30 mile radius. With free wi-fi in the cafe, a delicious salad bar, fresh baked bagels and muffins, a plethora of seafood choices, two aisles dedicated to organic foods, bulk candy bins, and the largest produce section in the area, this market is sure to please any shopper. Oh, but there’s more!

Sign up for a Martin’s card and earn points each time you buy. These points are good for discounts on gas (every 100 points saves you 10 cents per gallon!) and other special savings events, like Thanksgiving dinner. Earn enough points and you’ll be able to pick up a FREE turkey or other great options.

Martin’s is also dedicated to excellent customer service. Purchase your items at a self-scan checkout, or visit a traditional cashier. Can’t find an item in the store? No problem! There are customer computers/kiosks throughout the store that are used for product search, as well as prescription re-fills, printing recipes, and placing deli orders.
